What is e-utility Billing?
E-Utility Billing is an electronic program offered through the City Internet WebSite that allows a customer to view their Utility Information. Through E-Utility Billing, customers will have enhanced capabilities which include the ability to view current and historical Utility Statements, track their own consumption trends and still receive their current Utility Statement through the mail. E-Utility Billing utilizes a self registration process to authorize the customer access to a particular billing account. A customer would go to the City of Medicine Hat website and select E-Services. They would then proceed to set up an E-Utility Billing account by providing personal account information including their name as it appears on their Utility Statement; their Utility Account Number; their last statement balance; and the identification that they used when they enrolled for utility service.
Who can use it?
Any customer who has or had a utility account with the City of Medicine Hat over the last 18 months.

How do I set it up?
Go to the City of Medicine Hat website and select E-Services. You would then proceed to set up an E-Utility Billing account by providing personal account information including your name as it appears on your statement; your Utility Account Number; your last statement balance; and the identification that you used when you enrolled for the utility service. An authorization e-mail will be sent back to the customer indicating your account has been set up.
What kind of identification can be used?
Identification is required when requesting Utility Service. Some forms of Identification requested are as follows: Drivers License ID Card (Government Issued) Social Insurance Number Passport Landed Resident Card Batus ID
What if I don¿t remember the ID I provided?
A listing of acceptable ID is provided during the set up process. A prompt will be provided if the ID provided is not what the City has on file. Contact with customer service may be necessary if the application for utilities is older than 2 years. You can contact customer service through e-mail by clicking on City Website and ¿contact us¿.
How do I use the excel spreadsheet?
All information has the ability to be imported to an Excel spreadsheet. Simply select the option required by double clicking on the option on the left hand side menu. Locations ¿ Shows any addresses you have or previously had Services ¿ Indicates what services are provided to the address Statements ¿ Reproduces all previous statements Consumption ¿ What the consumption history is Payments ¿ Dates of payments and adjustments on the account
Can I use this for my Income taxes?
Customers who use their homes as a ¿home business¿ can now access a summary of their utility charges for the prior year. Simply select ¿Statements¿ and input the time frame required. Import to Excel and you have a summary of the utility charged for the year.
What if I move? Do I have to reapply?
No. Once you have registered, you will have access to all accounts registered under your Customer ID number. You will be able to view your new utility information from your new address, as well as the past history from any past accounts.
How do I contact the City if I have problems signing onto E-Utility?
